Hobart's Deep South Chorus, three times winner of Australia's best men's small barbershop chorus, is committed to consistently delivering excellent performances.
The Chorus is a robust and inclusive group of over twenty men. Members gain satisfaction and enjoyment from delivering quality performances.
The Chorus performs for community events and gigs. In the past this has included ANZAC Day, Festival of Voices, Hot August Jazz, Christmas celebrations, conferences, dinners and private functions.
And the Chorus supports fundraising.
Deep South is a welcoming group that accepts all men who want to "have a go". Each prospect is supported to achieve full membership. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm.
Members learn a growing repertoire of songs. These include both classic and contemporary songs. Members don't have to read music. Learning tracks are provided.
All that is needed is a willingness to "have a go".
